Almost ready to fly the coop...

It's been quite a few months over here at Frenchies of Glen Ellen! Ch. Bucky and Meadow welcomed four boys and one girl in October; and in November, Ch. Bucky and Peaches (Meadow's mom) welcomed FIVE girls and one boy. Overjoyed would be an understatement: I have literally been floating with happiness (whilst covered in puppy poop.. lol.. ) for weeks. The quality of these puppies is nothing I could have prepared myself for. Every single one of them have literally blown my mind with their beautiful structures, intelligence, personalities and gorgeous colors. I'm considering keeping THREE of these babes (two for sure) because they turned out so perfectly. I'm still interviewing for two of Peaches' females, however the rest of the puppies are all placed, or have deposits holding them. The little lilac female, pictured below, I'm still interviewing potential homes for, along with her solid blue littermate. Instead of a puppy application, I request for a little introduction email sent to frenchiesofglenellen@gmail.com about who the client is, and what they're looking for in a puppy and dog. It's much less formal than a questionnaire, and gives us a chance to get to know each other a little bit to see if we are both a good fit to work together. Some of my puppies have show potential, and could possibly be a good fit for breeding programs; but my main goal is for family homes. None of these babes will end up in a big breeding facility, or in someones backyard 24/7. I make sure of that by screening my clients, as my clients should screen me! : )

Tomorrow, one of our Ch. Bucky x Meadow show prospects is hitting the road to Kansas! I use a trusted flight nanny (and good friend) for when puppies and dogs need to travel. She's spending the night here at our house in order to be at the airport at 4 am. I've crate trained the puppy for about two weeks now to make sure she's accustomed to an enclosed space, along with giving her extra probiotics tonight and tomorrow morning to help her with any physical stress. My flight nanny is such a puppy whisperer, I'm confident my little 10 week old babe will be in great hands and arrive to her loving family confident and balanced. A lot goes into preparing my babes to leave their siblings and enter into their new homes.

When my puppies are ready to "fly the coop" to their new homes, I will email over a check list of supplies to gather prior to their baby arriving. Key is a great pen and a nice, solid crate. I like plastic pens, not metal, as they can rust. Amazon is always a good resource for pens and crates, along with the other supplies I tell my clients to buy. I use chewy.com often, as well, or hit up the local Pet Express. All of my dogs are on Purina Pro Plan Salmon and Rice for sensitive tummies. I will add a tbs per day of pureed pumpkin if their stools are loose, along with Benebac probiotics (gel or powder) to ease the stress of transitioning to a new home. Often puppies will like a little white rice to top the kibble, and a little bone broth. I feed puppies three times a day, per weight of individual puppy. I do not free feed my dogs, ever, as they are prone to being little piggies. Keeping your Frenchie lean is key for structural integrity, along with proper exercise!

Ok, friends... more later! Power is out due to the storm (thankfully we are on solar, so we have some backup power...) and my babies need their breakfast. As always, feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions on your Frenchie, or if you're interested in a puppy or being added to my waitlist. Much love, Natale
